Lottery Favors - Your Ticket to a Great Party Favor

I still remember the thrill I received about 15 years ago when I first opened a birthday card from a friend that had, much to my delight and surprise, a lottery ticket included inside. Granted - I didn't win anything on that ticket but the thrill of 'the chance to win' was a gift in itself. I remember thinking how thoughtful the sender was to have included a lottery ticket in the envelope.
And so it goes with lottery ticket favors. These have come especially popular as lottery wedding favors and of course this is understandable. For the relatively low cost of a ticket you are giving your guest(s) the opportunity to really win BIG - perhaps millions! Who wouldn't get a little rush of adrenaline at the thought of winning the lottery?
However - how to give a lottery ticket favor at the party is another thing altogether. It certainly isn't good protocol (not to mention anything about 'class') to just hand your guests a lottery ticket. Best to give it either inside a card or attached to something. If you are going to attach it (similar as to how you would attach a gift tag to something) make sure you know exactly where it is okay to punch that lottery ticket (so that you can put a ribbon through it to attach). You sure don't want to have that punch anywhere near the numbers or the bar code of the ticket. My preference is to put it inside an envelope and either set it at every place setting or to hand them out to guests as they leave your party. Of course, a personalized envelope is they way to go - with either the name of the couple on the envelope or at the very least, a "Thank You For Sharing This Day With Us" message. In fact - you could even turn the envelope into the place card and the party favor!
Lottery favors are always a safe bet when it comes to party favors!
